Approach
I understand that each person is a unique individual and tailor treatment needs to meet personal goals, strengths, and needs. I am a person-centered therapist who works alongside you to build safety, support, and understanding in order to find your authentic self. I utilize evidence-based practices, such as CBT and DBT to help build skills and resilience while utilizing trauma-informed modalities such as parts work and brainspotting to facilitate healing.
My clients and colleagues would say that I am warm and compassionate, and I utilize humor when appropriate.
The majority of my professional experience comes from working with those struggling with eating disorders and body image issues.
I have worked in various levels of care and understand the complexities that can arise. I am passionate about helping others rebuild trust with food and their bodies using Health at Every Size (HAES), Intuitive Eating, and body liberation frameworks.
Education and Experience
I obtained my BA in Psychology from Hope International University and took a gap year to work full-time in a residential treatment center for eating disorders. It was my time there that confirmed that I am passionate about helping others reach their goals. I attended Azusa Pacific University where I received my Masters in Clinical Psychology and had the opportunity to provide therapy in varying settings (such as day treatment programs, residential centers, and churches) with individuals, couples, and families. I am a Certified Eating Disorders Specialist and have training in phase one of brainspotting. When I’m not in the therapy room, I enjoy providing trainings and consultations to treatment centers and private practices.
